I was working-out the other day when Jillian Michaels (JM) said something that stuck with me while working out, but the comment led me into an entirely different thought process altogether days later during our church worship service. The comment was "start being comfortable with being uncomfortable" how many times have we heard something similar while being in the gym "no pain no gain" "pain hurts" "hard work pays off" and the sayings go on and on.
In 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 Paul is speaking about being a Christian and outwardly we are wasting away but inwardly we are being renewed day by day. As Christians we need to start being comfortable with being uncomfortable. This land is not our home and we should not be comfortable here, we are travelers in a foreign land. That does not mean God doesn't want you to enjoy your life and have abundance here on earth but He wants and desires to give you that abundance as your Heavenly Father. Being comfortable or compliant with the worldly behavior in which we are surrounded by should not be accepted in our lives. We are not to sit and slumber here on earth, but we need to be awaken to the truth and knowledge that God has bigger and better abundances in our final home for those that start getting uncomfortable here take heart.
2 Cor 4:17 says "our momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all"
2 Cor 5:9 says "we make it our goal to please Him whether we are at home in the body or away from it".
So I urge you to start being comfortable with being uncomfortable as you live as Christians are called to live by faith for what is unseen.
Amen.
You could say to yourself this has nothing to do with health and wellness and what is this blog? and blogger trying to get at?
Well the Well-Watered Garden does not exist apart of God and as this year is in it's early stages my prayers and hope are that this Garden's future flourishes more and more everyday; not only as a ministry but also as a pathway to help and facilitate the renewal of bodies to live stronger and healthier lives here on earth. I hope this encourages you to take that step and remember each day is a new day and as Paul wrote in 2 Cor. in Jesus we are renewed day by day.
